Bailey’s author visit is returning next month! We are happy to share that the PTO is bringing local author/illustrator Jason Tharpe with Wonderville Studios to Bailey on March 4th to talk with the students and share his message of inclusivity and celebrating our differences. Students have been sent home with the order form with more information. If you choose to order his books, he will bring them to the visit, and will sign each copy. Return hard copies of the order form to your student’s teacher by Thursday, February 17th or order online by Friday, February 18th at

In the Dayton/Columbus area we operate several coffee house locations, and we are extremely excited to be moving into the Dublin/Shawnee Hills community later this year on Glick Rd. Propello Life – January Shop for a Cause

Propello Life is honored to be January’s business for Bailey Elementary’s Shop for a Cause. I’m Duke Armstrong, and with my wife Jen, we have a second and fourth grader at Bailey (and one who graduated from there last year). We couldn’t be happier with the community at this school!

You may know us as the house with all of the boxes in our garage, and that is literally how we started our business. I used to work for multiple sports nutrition companies before going on my own health journey. Once I started on my own personal health journey, I realized the world was missing healthy nutrition products that had ingredients I felt good about putting in my body (and giving to our kids). That is how Propello Life was born. Jen and I have been working hard for over five years now, and we graduated from working out of our garage into moving into a warehouse over by Costco!

All of our products are all-natural, non-GMO, gluten free, free of anything artificial, and made with the highest quality ingredients. We offer Collagen, grass-fed Whey and Vegan proteins as well as Rejuvenating Aminos, two pre-workout options (Energy+Focus and Pre-Workout), and a protein infused peanut butter.

I’m happy to answer any questions you might have about our products or anything health and fitness related!

For Shop for a Cause, we are happy to give you 10% off your purchase and donate 20% of every purchase back to Bailey with the code BAILEY. This offer is good through the end of the month.

We offer free shipping on orders over $50 and free local pickup option from our home if that is easier!

Thank you to everyone for your support!

Duke Armstrong,

Holiday Breakfast Thank You

Hello Bailey Families!!

On behalf of the Staff Appreciation Committee, I just want to send out a quick THANK YOU to all who contributed to the staff’s Holiday Breakfast gift bags! The teachers and staff loved their gifts and they had a nice, quiet (it was in the library – so I had to slip that in lol) time together while they enjoyed their breakfast from Sunny Street Cafe, coffee from Tim Horton’s and lots of little goodies to grab before classes started.

Miss Ham was the lucky winner of the raffle prize (a gift basket worth over $200!!) and she just beamed when her name was called!

I also want to send a shout out to Kilwin’s, Dewey’s Pizza, Rebol, Nothing Bundt Cakes, and Local Cantina for generously contributing to the raffle prize.

With 2021 almost over, I wish you a happy, healthy and joyous New Year for you and your families.

Much love,

Melissa Hackett

Shop for a Cause – December

Shop for a Cause with December’s featured Bailey-family-business owner Katie Gillaugh, Usborne Books!

I am excited and very grateful to be the December Bailey-family-owned business for Bailey’s Shop for a Cause. I have two daughters at Bailey in second grade and kindergarten. I started out as an Usborne Books customer several years ago as I fell in love with their books and activities. As I started to grow our home library and saw how engaging the books were for my girls, I became a consultant. If you have not heard of Usborne and Kane Miller books I hope you take a few minutes to check them out!

Usborne and Kane Miller books are the most exciting, engaging, and educational books on the market today. They are high-quality, innovative, lavishly-illustrated, and best of all, they are the books kids love to read. Choose from over 1,800 bright, colorful, and fun titles covering a wide variety of subjects. From holiday books, to activity books, to neat fiction series, and internet-linked science and history encyclopedias, Usborne does books better. Kane Miller has published award-winning children’s books from around the world for more than 25 years. They bring to life fantastic fiction stories for older readers and wonderful multicultural picture book stories for younger readers. All of these are stories that will make you smile, think, cry, or laugh ‘til you have tears in your eyes.

It’s a great time to add some new titles to your home library. From books for babies, to early readers to chapter book series for the older readers, we have something for everyone. The puzzles and activity options are top notch. You can search through all of our titles at and I’d love to help find the perfect book for any child in your life – don’t hesitate to reach out to me for recommendations or suggestions to find the best title for you!

All orders are shipped directly to your home. I recommend placing any orders needed by Christmas Day NO LATER than Wednesday, December 15. There are some great December customer specials, including the reusable sticker book ‘Good As New’ and ‘Forgotten Fairy Tales of Kindness and Courage.’ Customers can qualify for these discounted prices with every $40 spent and can be found in the ‘Specials’ section online.

As you shop, please remember that I am donating half of the money I earn in commissions from this Usborne Books party (I earn 25% on each order) to the Bailey PTO, so every book you buy helps our school!

Thank you for your support and I look forward to answering any of your questions!
