Hello Bailey Families!!

On behalf of the Staff Appreciation Committee, I just want to send out a quick THANK YOU to all who contributed to the staff’s Holiday Breakfast gift bags! The teachers and staff loved their gifts and they had a nice, quiet (it was in the library – so I had to slip that in lol) time together while they enjoyed their breakfast from Sunny Street Cafe, coffee from Tim Horton’s and lots of little goodies to grab before classes started.

Miss Ham was the lucky winner of the raffle prize (a gift basket worth over $200!!) and she just beamed when her name was called!

I also want to send a shout out to Kilwin’s, Dewey’s Pizza, Rebol, Nothing Bundt Cakes, and Local Cantina for generously contributing to the raffle prize.

With 2021 almost over, I wish you a happy, healthy and joyous New Year for you and your families.

Shop for a Cause with December’s featured Bailey-family-business owner Katie Gillaugh, Usborne Books!

I am excited and very grateful to be the December Bailey-family-owned business for Bailey’s Shop for a Cause. I have two daughters at Bailey in second grade and kindergarten. I started out as an Usborne Books customer several years ago as I fell in love with their books and activities. As I started to grow our home library and saw how engaging the books were for my girls, I became a consultant. As you shop, please remember that I am donating half of the money I earn in commissions from this Usborne Books party (I earn 25% on each order) to the Bailey PTO, so every book you buy helps our school!

The Golf Ball Drop will take place at 7:05 after the Fun Run.  Balls will be dropped from a firetruck ladder and the balls that land closest to the flag takes home prizes, first place prize is $500 cash!  DO NOT HAVE TO BE PRESENT TO WIN!  Please share with your friends and family members as anyone can purchase to help support the school.  We have sold 424 balls so far (THANK YOU!) our goal is 600 balls!

ROOM PARENT SIGN UPS ARE NOW LIVE FOR 2021-2022

Getting involved in your child’s class as a room parent is a fun experience, a huge help to the teacher, and a vital link between the PTO and the classroom. For the 2021-2022 school year, there will be a maximum of 3 room parents per classroom. Please read below for some of the responsibilities shared by the room parents.

Room Parent Responsibilities

1. Communicate with the teacher about PTO events, activities, etc… 

2. Assist the teacher if he/she needs help with any classroom tasks.

3. Provide information to parents if they have questions about classroom activities.

4. Work in cooperation with a PTO Committee Chair if help is needed specifically for your classroom. Examples from previous years include the pizza party for winners from Bailey at The Bogey and community service projects, such as blanket making.

5. Plan and organize the Harvest Party, Holiday Party and End of Year Party for your classroom.

6. Create a classroom directory IF you choose to do one.

7. Collect money for the teacher’s birthday, holiday, and end of year gifts or any other special event gift, such as a baby or wedding gift.

8. Provide any other assistance as needed throughout the school year.

9. Attend the mandatory room parent meeting (date/time/place TBD).
