Getting involved in your child’s class as a room parent is a fun experience, a huge help to the teacher, and a vital link between the PTO and the classroom. For the 2021-2022 school year, there will be a maximum of 3 room parents per classroom. Please read below for some of the responsibilities shared by the room parents.

Room Parent Responsibilities

1. Communicate with the teacher about PTO events, activities, etc… 

2. Assist the teacher if he/she needs help with any classroom tasks.

3. Provide information to parents if they have questions about classroom activities.

4. Work in cooperation with a PTO Committee Chair if help is needed specifically for your classroom. Examples from previous years include the pizza party for winners from Bailey at The Bogey and community service projects, such as blanket making.

5. Plan and organize the Harvest Party, Holiday Party and End of Year Party for your classroom.

6. Create a classroom directory IF you choose to do one.

7. Collect money for the teacher’s birthday, holiday and end of year gifts or any other special event gift, such as a baby or wedding gift.

8. Provide any other assistance as needed throughout the school year.

9. Attend the mandatory room parent meeting (date/time/place TBD).

Bailey Fun Run – Register Now

Register prior to Wednesday, September 15th before the price increase and to guarantee your shirt sizes.


Join the Bailey Community for a social event that is also the school’s largest fundraiser!  The Bailey PTO will host a Fun Run behind the school and it is open to all ages.  There will be a one lap event for walkers and younger children, next we will do a 30-minute timed run for older participants, each registered participant can choose which run they would like to do (wristbands required).  After the runs we will do our annual Golf Ball Drop from a firetruck.  The balls to drop closest to the flag will win prizes (including cash prizes!).  This event is meant to cater to all ages and bring the Bailey community back together while raising funds for our amazing school.

Proceeds from this fundraiser will provide innovation grants for all elementary grade levels, including high-tech media equipment for the library, hands-on science programs and reading enrichment materials.  We are also raising funds to replace the existing playground in the next few years, a portion of funds raised will support that as well.  All funds directly benefit and enhance the classroom experience for each child at Bailey Elementary. Thank you for your support!

Attention all Kindergarten Parents! We have our kindergarten meet-up play times coming up soon. If you have a kindergartener and would like to meet other kindergarten students and parents, consider attending one of our Meet-up events at the playground at Bailey Elementary.

Playground Committee

Join the Playground Committee!

Bailey Elementary is turning 25 years old this year! The building was renovated around the 20th anniversary, so the PTO is considering an update to the playground to coincide with the 25th anniversary. The new families to Bailey have brought the age of the playground to the forefront of our attention, and we have decided to form a new committee to look into renovating and/or adding to our existing playground equipment. Some of the things we will need to do on this committee is looking into the overall cost of what we need to do, fundraising activities specific to the playground, researching grant opportunities, and working with the district’s new leadership to ask them to contribute to the playground (which they have not historically done).

Membership Drive


As the school year begins and we are all navigating through uncharted waters, I wanted to let you know that the Bailey Elementary School PTO will continue to support the school, as we do every year. However, this year our fun family events, activities, and other school related functions might look a little different. 

In a typical year, Bailey Elementary PTO is responsible for having special events for students and families as well as supporting our teachers with annual funds for their classroom and tokens of appreciation. Some events the PTO has sponsored include:

  • Author visits
  • Educational assemblies (World Showcase, Veteran’s Day, etc.) 
  • Field Day and Super Games
  • Family Activities: Bingo Family Night, Holiday Shop, Art Show, VIP Breakfast
  • Mini Course Night
  • Bailey Bash, Bulldog 5K and Family Fun Run, Bailey at The Bogey
  • Innovations Grants – in addition to annual funds,  teachers can apply for grants for larger needs in their classroom, grade-level, or the entire school

 We also support our community by:

  • Giving an annual donation to PERC
  • Offering two scholarships to high school seniors who are Bailey Alumni
  • Donating money raised from our Smencil Sale to Dublin Bridges

This school year is different than any other school year Bailey has experienced in its 24 year history. The PTO could not provide all of the above mentioned activities and support to our teachers and community without your time and financial support.  The PTO continues to find new and innovative ways to support our teachers and bring you events that so many families enjoy.  However, the restrictions on gatherings due to the pandemic will significantly affect our biggest fundraising events, such as Bailey at the Bogey, Bulldog 5k, and Bailey Bash. Whether it is volunteering or donating money, everything makes an impact to our Bailey Community, and we appreciate everything you do to support our efforts.

Yellowbird – Order Now!!!

Have you signed up for your Yellowbird box yet? The first box will be arriving soon. All orders must be placed by May 10th to receive your first box on May 15th. Remember the following:

  • Choose Bailey Elementary as your pick-up location.
  • PTO receives 5% of the proceeds for boxes delivered to the school.
  • You do not need to have a student at Bailey to join.
  • Everyone needs fruits and vegetables!
