Shop for a Cause

October’s featured Bailey-family-business owners: Maria Cramer-Kirkpatrick and Tim Kirkpatrick

We are excited to pair with the PTO in this fundraising event, and we’d like to share a little more
about our family. We’ve been a Bailey family since 2014. Our oldest, Aidan, is now an 8th
grader at Grizzell, while Colin is in 5 th grade and Alana is in 3rd grade at Bailey. Tim is an
Emergency Medicine physician with Mid Ohio Emergency Services (which staffs many of Ohio
Health’s Emergency Departments). I have a journalism degree and formerly worked in
healthcare communications, but now I focus on caring for my family, running three businesses
as fundraising efforts and volunteering – at school and in the community. I have been involved with the PTO since 2014 and have held many positions, including room parent, Kinder Key Caroling Chair, PTO Executive Board Member at Large and Bailey’s Shop for a Cause chair. I will donate 100% of my earnings (minus expenses) from all three of my businesses/fundraising vehicles to our PTO for sales made through Bailey’s Shop for a Cause during the month of October.

Fit 4 Good
I have more than 15 years of experience as a group fitness instructor and personal trainer. I have taught at several gyms and fitness centers, including the Dublin Community Recreation Center, where I taught from 2013 to 2020. Currently I teach fitness classes out of my home gym with all proceeds being donated to charitable causes. Due to COVID19, these classes are mostly virtual. Weather permitting, I invite participants to join me outside at my home for in-person workouts while also streaming the workouts on Zoom for those who prefer online access. I aim to provide safe, effective, and fun workouts for all ages, shapes, and fitness experience levels. The classes are called Fit 4 Good for two reasons. First, I want classes to be accessible to everyone regardless of their financial situation. Therefore, in lieu of paying a class fee, I ask clients to “pay it forward” by donating to a charitable cause or committing acts of kindness to benefit others. Second, I focus on long-term health and wellness and avoid potentially risky quick fixes. I guide clients to work out in a way that is sustainable and will support their efforts to get and stay fit – for good!

As part of Bailey’s Shop for a Cause, I will encourage my Fit 4 Good clients to consider making a donation to the Bailey PTO for the month of October. For those for whom doing so would be a financial challenge, I will encourage clients to consider volunteering for a PTO committee or PTO-sponsored event. If it sounds like Fit 4 Good is a good fit for you, please contact me!
